Gone are the days of boring parties and wedding ceremonies only filled with food and rituals. ‘Party entertainment’ and the ‘wedding entertainment’ are the new terms middle class India has learned. It’s the new era we are stepping into where even middle class parties and weddings have understood the value of keeping the entertainment part. When we say the wedding entertainment, we don’t mean some singers, musicians or dancers, we mean the DJ, light jokes and games mostly conducted by only an anchor and trust us, that’s enough to make the evenings special, fun filled and memorable. To know more about this, we spoke to a leading anchor of the event industry Amit Auumkaar, who’s known for his wit, games and entertainment. Amit has a track record of 800-1000 successful shows and is often seen lighting up the parties and wedding celebrations in different parts of India.
Amit told us that this trend of keeping an anchor in the parties and weddings began with the bigger events organised only for rich people but now, it has entered the middle class events as well and once you witness the events like these, you surely realise the value of keeping an expert anchor in the party. Why the anchor is necessary? We asked anchor Amit Auumkaar, to which he replies “Actually the people when attend the social gatherings, are quite uncomfortable going to the dance floor as they avoid feeling sheepish later. The anchor’s job is to make them comfortable and make them take the participation is the celebrations”.
According to Amit Auumkaar, anchor’s job is to make sure that the event goes such that everyone remembers the evening for years for the fun they had there.
“I always quote this to my clients that you have everything in your party well arranged already but you need an expert anchor only because you want your evening to be memorable”.

Well, we are once again able to attend the social gatherings, all thanks to the God for giving us a sort of relief from Covid that we are able to celebrate peacefully. Obviously we have some rules and regulations to follow but it’s for our own safety after all.
Coming back to the topic, we also asked Amit what’s that you do to make people enjoy so much? He replies, “ we begin the evening usually with the ‘ice breaking sessions’ The very first job of an anchor is to make people comfortable and most important is to set the ‘RIGHT TONE’ of the event, when the tone is right, people learn what they need to do tonight. Talking about the ‘Ice breaking sessions, it has 2 parts, the first is to talk to them and make them speak and the second is to make them dance”.
Once they shake a leg, we hit the right tone for the evening and that’s when they are ready to join the games. I begin the show with very light games like the first one is to make the group according to your birthday month. So, if you are born in the month of January, you’ll have to find people who are born in the same month as you. By the end of this game, they all have talked to one and other and they know who’s born in which month. Another part of this game is to make the group according to the first letter of your name. So in my case if my name begins with letter ‘A’ i will have to find everyone in the party who’s name begins with letter ‘A’ in order to win the prize.
By the end of this game you know the names of most of the people and you also are more comfortable with everyone in the party. After these, follow the pre party games and then the party games and few dance games and all of this fun costs you only an Anchor and few prizes (Prizes are optional)
The next question obviously comes that where do people find you or where do YOU find your clients? On this is says.
“Well, earlier we were only depended upon the event managers or the wedding planners for the shows and events and bookings which still is there, we do get a lot of work from the companies but since the Social media is there, once people see my performance in any shows or parties, they find me on Facebook or Insta. They also look for the anchors on google these days which has made us direct with the clients and that also increases the number of events you get if you are good at your work”.
Without any doubt we can say that, this is trend looks way more entertaining and exciting. After all we all are always looking for new ideas to make our special days more exciting and thrilling.
